Russian troops use cluster munitions to shell Kramatorsk: at least 2 killed, 8 injured

On Saturday, March 18, Russian troops shelled Bernatsky Park and a funeral service in Kramatorsk, killing at least 2 people, injuring 8 more, 3 of them are in serious condition

At least 2 people were killed as a result of the Russian shelling of the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. The number of injured has increased to 8, 3 of them are in serious condition, the head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration Oleksandr Honcharenko told Suspilne.

Honcharenko added that this was the second Russian shelling of the city in a day. During the first attack in the afternoon, on March 18, no one was injured or killed.

In addition, the spokesperson for the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, Anastasia Miedviedieva, told that a pre-trial investigation is underway in criminal proceedings over violations of the laws and customs of war.

Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General noted on Telegram that the Russian military shelled Kramatorsk using the Uragan MLRS.

Earlier Donetsk regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko reported that Russian troops shelled the city with cluster munitions.

"The Russian army fired at the city with cluster munitions, hitting Bernatsky Park and a funeral service. According to preliminary information, a dozen residential buildings and several cars were damaged," he said.

Kyrylenko also confirmed that there were casualties among civilians.
