Russian troops try to destroy Bakhmut’s high-rise buildings to complicate defense for Ukraine - military expert Zgurets

"For a long time, assault troops of Russian troops in cooperation with Wagner PMC mercenaries have been conducting combat operations in Bakhmut. The situation in Bakhmut is complicated. The fighting is taking place along the railroad that divides Bakhmut from north to south. There is a gray zone in the eastern part of the city where our military and Russian units are active. Beyond this railroad is a city block with tall buildings where our positions are fortified. The enemy is trying to destroy the skyscrapers with artillery to complicate the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in these positions," said Zgurets.

According to the expert, Bakhmut's logistics are being maintained.

"Around Bohdanivka and Khromove the enemy has resumed its actions to complicate the supply for our troops. The main way to supply the city is the Ivanivske - Kostyantynivka road," added Zgurets.

• Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of Ukraine’s Eastern Military Group, said that Russia has switched to "Syrian" scorched earth tactics, destroying buildings and positions.

• Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Oleksandr Voitko noted that fierce and intense fighting continues near Avdiivka.
