The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported the shelling.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers started a pre-trial investigation after Russia's night attack on Zaporizhzhia. The investigation was opened on the basis of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code).
As reported by the Office, on January 7, from 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Russian troops attacked one of Zaporizhzhia's districts with MLRS systems and cluster munitions.
"Zaporizhzhia's civil and critical infrastructure facilities were partially damaged. The vehicles of local residents were also mutilated," report the Office's representatives.
- On January 7, Russian troops launched 15 strikes on the Donetsk region. The next day, they attacked Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove and the village of Kurakhivka.
- On the night of January 7-8, Russian troops struck the Kharkiv region; a civilian was killed.
- On the night of January 8, Russian forces fired incendiary ammunition at a Kherson's district.
