Russian troops repeatedly shell Kherson during evacuation: 3 people injured, including child
On Friday, June 9, Russian troops carried out another shelling of Kherson’s riverine areas while local residents were being evacuated. As a result of the attack, 3 people were injured, including a child, and the equipment of the State Emergency Service was damaged
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported the information.
"Russians are shelling Kherson again. They are targeting the riverine areas," Prokudin wrote.
Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated that Russian troops targeted the area where civilians were being evacuated in Kherson.
"Rusists fired again at the place of civilian evacuation in Kherson. The team, Maryna and I are fine," Poroshenko said.
The Kherson regional prosecutor's office reported another shelling on June 9 at 5:40 pm. Russian forces shelled Kherson once again during evacuation.
The attack injured 3 people, including a minor girl. Civilian infrastructure was also damaged.
"Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been launched," the prosecutor's office said.
In addition, the State Emergency Service reported that the shelling damaged the equipment used by volunteers to rescue local residents of Kherson region.
"The Bohun swamp vehicle, Renault Trafic medical vehicle, and a Special Medium Class Rescue Vehicle (SARM-S) were damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the personnel," the statement said.

This is not the first time the city was shelled during the evacuation of civilians. On Thursday, June 8, Russian troops targeted Korabelna Square and the riverine part of Kherson. The attack resulted in 9 injured, including a German volunteer.
