Russian troops push near Novopavlivka, attempting to leverage final warm weather

Chief Sergeant Yuriy Syrotiuk of Ukraine’s 5th Separate Assault Brigade shared the information on Espreso TV.

“The brigade is always where the fighting is hottest. One part of the brigade holds the front in the Chasiv Yar direction, while another is on the Novopavlivka front, where the Russian troops have been trying to advance since the start of summer. So far, we haven’t noticed any slowdown in Russian activity. They are trying to take advantage of the warm weather,” Syrotiuk said.

He added that Russian forces are leveraging their ability to concentrate firepower on specific sections of the front. 

“Rains are starting, and it will become harder for the enemy to move. That’s why in the past few days, they have tried to take advantage of favorable weather — there’s still greenery, so they can hide in groves, and they still have enough manpower they’re willing to throw into the fight,” Syrotiuk said.

• In the past day, the occupying Russian army lost 970 troops in Ukraine, while Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed dozens of Russian weapons and equipment.
