Russian troops launch 44 air strikes, 20 MLRS attacks on Ukraine – AFU General Staff

On April 18, Russian troops have launched 4 missile, 44 air strikes and about 20 MLRS attacks; civilians have been injured

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in its usual report..

Ukrainian aviation launches 3 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations and hits an anti-aircraft missile system

Meanwhile, Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck 2 concentrations of Russian manpower, weapons and military equipment, an electronic warfare station and another important military facility.

Russian forces attack in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions

Over the last day, Ukrainian forces repelled about 30 attacks in the directions mentioned above. The most fierce fighting is taking place for Bakhmut and Marinka.

On the northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia, the operational situation remained unchanged. 

Russia keeps its military presence in Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.

During the day, Russian troops shelled 4 settlements in the Sumy region and 7 more in the Kharkiv region.

The situation in other directions is as follows:

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces shelled 6 settlements in the Kharkiv region with artillery.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces tried to improve their tactical situation and laucnhed an unsuccessful assault near Dibrova. They also shelled 3 settlements in the Luhansk region and 3 others in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops are on the offensive. Heavy fighting for the city of Bakhmut continues. Ten settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian forces launched assaults at 5 settlements in the Donetsk region, but were unsuccessful. They also shelled 4 more settlements.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous attacks near Marinka over the last day. Meanwhile, 4 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian forces did not launch any assaults over the past day. They fired at 4 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are on the defensive. They shelled a settlement in the Donetsk region, 7 more settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region and another one in the Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson itself. There are casualties among civilians.
