Russian troops launch 31 missile attacks and 12 airstrikes against Ukraine, damaging infrastructure in 8 regions 

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information on Facebook.

On December 31, Russian troops launched 31 missile and 12 airstrikes, and more than 70 MLRS attacks.

 In particular, the Russian military launched 13 Iranian Shahed-136 UAVs over Ukraine, all of which were destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The civil infrastructure of 8 Ukrainian regions came under attack, in particular Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.

The Ukrainian defenders of the missile forces and artillery hit a Russian control post

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian aviation struck a concentration of the Russian military and its air defense position.

Ukrainian missile troops and artillery hit a Russian control post, 4 concentrations of Russian manpower and a UAV control post.

Russia continues suffering losses

The General Staff reported that over the last week around 350 injured Russian soldiers were brought to a hospital in the Luhansk region.

 "On December 30 of last year, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the enemy's losses amounted to 160 injured soldiers, 10 units of military equipment of various types were destroyed. Information about the eliminated soldiers is currently being clarified," the General Stuff added.

In the temporarily occupied Kharkiv region, Russian troops intensified counter-intelligence measures

Hostile counter-intelligence operations continue in the settlement of Lyman Druhyi, Kharkiv region. Russian troops are looking for a pro-Ukrainian population.

The situation by directions

During December 31, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian attacks near 9 settlements: Stelmakhivka, Ploshchanka, and Bilohorivka of the Luhansk region and Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Ozaryanivka, Marinka and Pobieda of the Donetsk region.

On the border with Belarus, the situation has not changed. Russia maintains the presence of its troops, but experts have not detected any offensive groups.

On the northern and northeastern border with Russia, Buchka and Yasna Polyana settlements of the Chernihiv region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, as well qs 8 more settlements of the Sumy region and 9 of the Kharkiv region.

 In the Kupyansk direction, 5 settlements of the Kharkiv region and 3 of the Luhansk region are under fire.

In the Lyman direction, 4 settlements of the Luhansk region and 3 of the Donetsk region were subjected to Russian attacks.

 In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops fired from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery at the positions of Ukrainian troops near more than 25 settlements.  Among them are Spirne, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Kostyantynivka, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk and New York, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, 6 settlements of the Donetsk region came under fire.

In the Vuhledar direction, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements of the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian attacks were recorded near more than 20 settlements.

 In the Kherson region, the Russian army continues to terrorize the civilian population.  The civilian infrastructure of Antonivka, Tokarivka, Mykolaivka and Kherson was damaged by shelling.

• On the night from December 31 to January 1, Russian troops attacked the Kyiv region and Kyiv city. Ukrainian air defense eliminated 32 enemy objects.
