Ukrainian air defense shoots down 32 drones; debris damages car

On the morning of January 1, the head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Oleksiy Kuleba, informed that at night the region repelled a Shahed drone attack. Russian troops aimed at energy infrastructure facilities.
"Almost 30 drones were launched at the region. According to the preliminary information, there were no casualties. There is damage to the infrastructure object. Emergency services worked all night at the impact sites," he wrote.
Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of the Kyiv region military administration, informed that the Air Defense Forces operated at night. An air raid alert was trigger in the Kyiv region at 00:33 a.m. Sounds similar to the air defense operation were heard around 00:35 a.m.
The Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko confirmed that the explosions took place in the Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv.
"In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a missile debris fell on a Volkswagen car and damaged the hood of the car. There are no victims, so far," Klitschko wrote.
At 02:37 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defense had shot down 23 objects over the capital.
"In the Dnipro region, missile debris was detected on the roadway. There were no casualties," the Kyiv City Military Administration added.
At 04:29 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration provided updated preliminary information on the air defense operation: Ukrainian defenders destroyed 32 enemy air targets.
The head of the Kyiv region police, Andriy Nebytov, published a photo of a drone that was shot down by Ukrainian defenders. "These debris fell not at the front line, where fierce battles are taking place, they fall here, on the sports ground, where children are playing."
On the night from December 31 to January 1, Russian troops struck the Kherson region, Kherson city and its suburbs were left without electricity supply.
