Russian troops force all collaborators to stay in Skadovsk – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on April 19.

“The Russian enemy continues to use the civilian population of the temporarily occupied territories for its own purposes, hiding behind a human shield. Thus, in the city of Skadovsk, Kherson region, as of April 18, the Russian troops began to force all collaborators and those who are cooperating with them to sign an obligation not to travel outside the district,” the General Staff reported. 

Russian forces continue shelling Ukraine

Invading Russian forces launched 3 missile attacks and 37 airstrikes over the last day. They used 12 Shahed-136 UAVs. 10 of them were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces.

“The Russian Federation continues to ignore international humanitarian law, conducting strikes and shelling not only at the positions of our troops, but also at the civilian infrastructure of settlements, terrorizing civilians. The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high,” the report says.

Over the past day, the Russian enemy launched 57 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian positions and populated areas. Civilians were killed and wounded, and private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line: 5 settlements in the Sumy region, as well as 13 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in the Avdiivka, Vuhledar and Lyman directions are fruitless

According to the AFU General Staff, the enemy is attacking at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions at the cost of heavy losses. Over 40 enemy attacks were repelled in the above-mentioned frontline areas over the last day. The fiercest battles are taking place for Bakhmut and Marinka.

In the Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk directions, over 30 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian troops. At the same time, numerous enemy assaults were repelled by the Ukrainian defenders. 

In the Lyman direction, 5 localities in the Luhansk region came under shelling. 

In the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions, 10 towns and villages were subjected to numerous Russian attacks. 

Ukrainian aviation launched 7 strikes on Russian military positions

Missile and artillery units hit 2 enemy manpower concentration areas, as well as 2 of the Russian Federation's munitions depots. 

Russians turned a house of culture into a military hospital in the Luhansk region

“In the village of Kabychivka, Luhansk region, the Russian occupation authorities received an order to set up a 40-bed military hospital for the soldiers instead of the village’s cultural center. Russian military doctors are scheduled to arrive at the newly created medical facility by the end of the week,” the Ukrainian military said.
