Russian subversive reconnaissance groups ambush and kill people in Sumy region - political analyst Bobyrenko
The 500 km border with Russia is actually a low-intensity front, with daily mortar and artillery attacks by the enemy
This was stated by Viktor Bobyrenko, a Sumy analyst and expert at the Bureau of Analysis and Policy, on Espreso TV.
"Every day we are shelled. Moreover, Russian іubversive reconnaissance groups are coming in. Recently, foresters were killed in an ambush. Russians go 4-5 kilometers away, set up ambushes, shoot someone and leave," he said.
Bobyrenko adds that Ukraine has 500 kilometers of the border with Russia, and in fact, it is now a low-intensity front.
"What I mean is the frontline, as it was before February 23 in Donbas. This is what we have now in Sumy region. Several of their brigades are located there, and they keep up to 15-20 thousand people along the entire border," the Sumy analyst emphasizes.
He also notes that every day the terrorists conduct mortar and artillery attacks.
"This is the case when shelters are ineffective," Bobyrenko said.
- On the night of July 20, Russia attacked a number of regions in southern and eastern Ukraine: an administrative building was destroyed in Odesa, 4 people were injured; a fire broke out in a residential building in Mykolaiv, killing at least 19 people; and a recreation center was damaged in Sumy region.
