Russian occupiers force drug addicts and alcoholics to dig trenches in Crimea, Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 40 attacks - General Staff

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, the invaders involve drug addicts and alcoholics to build fortifications. If they refuse, occupiers force them to dig trenches.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a morning report on April 7.

"Russian invaders involve residents of Dzhankoi district of temporarily occupied Crimea in fortification construction works," the statement reads.

Mostly men are involved in engineering work, many of whom are drug addicts and alcoholics. The occupiers promise them money, but the workers often do not receive it or do not receive it in full.

According to the AFU General Staff, there are cases when people who have been deceived do not want to cooperate further, and then the armed invaders force them to dig trenches. 

Russia carried out 5 missile and 18 air strikes on Ukraine during the day

On April 6, Russia launched 5 missile strikes and 18 air strikes, firing 53 multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure in settlements.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes remains high throughout Ukraine.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled over 40 Russian attacks in 4 directions

The Russian forces continue to focus their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces repelled over 40 Russian attacks.

Ukrainian troops destroyed 3 Russian guided bombs, 3 drones and an electronic warfare station

Over the past day, the aviation of Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out 6 strikes on the areas of the occupiers' personnel and military equipment concentration.

In addition, the Ukrainian defenders destroyed 3 UAVs of various types (Orlan-10, Supercam and Lancet-3), as well as 3 guided aircraft bombs.

Missile and artillery units destroyed 2 areas of enemy manpower concentration, 2 fuel and lubricant depots and an electronic warfare station.

Situation in different directions

The operational situation in the Northern and Northeastern Ukrainian borders remains unchanged.

Russia continues to use the airspace and territory of the Belarusian Republic. At the same time, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

The Russian forces continue to maintain a military presence in the Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.

Over the past day, the Russian Federation attacked 3 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 4 in the Sumy region, and 13 in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, 9 localities in the Kharkiv region and 1 in the Luhansk region came under hostile fire.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of 2 localities on April 6.

Three localities in the Luhansk region and three in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian enemy continues to conduct offensive actions, trying to take full control of the city of Bakhmut, fierce fighting continues.

Over the past day, they conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of 3 settlements. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 16 enemy attacks in this area.

10 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from Russian shelling.

In the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the Russian troops conducted offensive actions in the area of 4 settlements in Donetsk region, but they did not succeed.

The fiercest fighting in this area of the frontline is taking place near Marinka, where 19 Russians’ attacks were repelled.

At the same time, 6 other localities came under enemy fire.

In the Vuhledar directions, the invading troops did not conduct any offensive actions during the day. They fired at 3 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian army continues to build up defensive lines and positions in terms of fortifications.

They fired at more than 20 localities. Among them - 1 in Donetsk region; 7 in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Antonivka and Kherson.
