Medical facilities in occupied territories overcrowded with wounded Russian soldiers – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on April 6.

“The occupying Russian forces continue to suffer huge losses in manpower, local medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territories are overwhelmed. In one of the settlements in the Simferopol district in occupied Crimea, a tent city for the wounded Russian invaders was set up. As of April 4 this year, about a hundred enemy soldiers are undergoing rehabilitation in this field camp,” the statement says.

Ukrainian aviation launched 6 strikes on the invading Russian forces' military positions over the day.

In turn, missile and artillery units struck two areas of enemy manpower concentration, two fuel and lubricant depots and an enemy electronic warfare station.

Russia launched 4 missile attacks and 7 airstrikes over the day

The Russian troops also launched about a dozen attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. Over the last day, thanks to the courage of each soldier, over 20 attacks were repelled. The most intense fighting is taking place in Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. The Russian enemy continues to hold units in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation keeps shelling the border line with mortars and artillery: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, as well as 9 villages and towns in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

• In the Kupiansk direction, 8 settlements came under enemy fire.

• In the Lyman sector, the Russian enemy conducted an unsuccessful offensive. 6 settlements came under artillery fire.

• In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues offensives, trying to take full control of the city of Bakhmut, and fierce fighting is ongoing. Ukrainian defense forces repelled about 10 enemy attacks in this area. Over 15 settlements in the combat zone came under fire. 

• In the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of 4 settlements. 4 more localities in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian enemy did not conduct any offensive actions over the last day. 3 localities in the Donetsk region were subjected to enemy attacks. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson sectors, the enemy continues to build up defensive lines and positions in terms of fortifications. Over 15 towns and villages came under shelling. 

Despite losses in manpower and equipment, enemy troops continue to advance in 4 directions. However, Ukrainian soldiers are destroying the enemy and have repelled more than 60 attacks, shot down a helicopter and 2 drones.
