Russian MoD says that Ukraine prepares radioactive contamination provocation
Ministry of Defense of Russia stated that Ukraine is preparing a provocation with "local radioactive contamination" in order to blame it on the Russian army
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
They claim that several containers with radioactive substances that will be used to stage the contamination were delivered to Ukraine from Europe, bypassing customs inspection.
They also claim that this is being done with the aim of "accusing the Russian Federation of grossly violating the Convention on Nuclear Safety obligations." It is stated that this "provocation" will take place before the 11th emergency special session of the UN General Assembly.
"The purpose of the provocation is to accuse the Russian armed forces of allegedly carrying out indiscriminate strikes on radioactively dangerous objects in Ukraine, which would lead to the leakage of radioactive substances and contamination of the area," the message says.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that currently Russia does not comply with the agreements under the Geneva Conventions, but only "engages in provocations".
