Russian invading forces turned school gym into torture chamber in Velyki Kopani, Kherson region - Ukraine’s General Staff

In the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region, Russians have set up a torture chamber in a school gym

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.

"Russian terrorists have been recorded forcibly abducting pro-Ukrainian people and establishing new torture chambers for their detention in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. One such torture chamber was discovered in a secondary school located in the village of Velyki Kopani, Kherson region," the General Staff writes.

The Russian FSB conducts interrogations in the school gym. Russian forces are keeping the detainees in harsh, inhuman conditions and torturing them. 

Attacks on Ukraine and the frontline situation 

"The enemy attacks in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions - 21 combat clashes took place over the day," the General Staff reports.

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected. Combat exercises and coordination of Russian Armed Forces’ units are taking place at training grounds in Belarus before their deployment to combat areas in Ukraine.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops maintain military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Furthermore, they carried out air strikes at 2 settlements in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of 19 settlements across Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, 8 settlements across Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched an air strike near 1 settlement in the Donetsk region. Seven settlements across Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 2 settlements. They also shelled 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 2 settlements and an air strike near Avdiivka.

The Russian army also shelled 3 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous attacks near the town of Marinka. 

Russian troops launched air strikes on 2 settlements and shelled 5 more in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 2 settlements, air strikes on 3 more settlements, and shelled 5 others. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces are on the defensive.

They shelled 21 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on Russian troops

Ukrainian aviation carried out 14 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations over the day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 3 reconnaissance UAVs of the operational and tactical level.

Missile and artillery units hit a Russian control center, 3 personnel concentrations and 4 artillery units at firing positions, 2 electronic warfare stations and 2 other important targets.
