Russian grocery stores suddenly close in Melitopol, Berdiansk - Fedorov
Local residents report that the owner of Mera, Russian chain of stores, has already fled Melitopol
This was reported by the Melitopol Mayor, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram.
In Melitopol and Berdiansk, Russian Mera grocery stores suddenly closed. Residents report that the Donetsk owner of the retail chain fled Melitopol.
"It is interesting that on the eve of the mysterious closure, these stores announced discounts on most goods. This generosity was explained as the 'first birthday' of the stores. The first one became the last one," noted Fedorov.
The mayor of Melitopol noted that it was immediately clear that the Mera stores would not do well because they were opened on the basis of seized premises of a Ukrainian supermarket chain, and the selection of goods was extremely small, sometimes of poor quality, and prices were extremely high.
Ivan Fedorov added that there is another version of the closure of these stores, i.e. redistribution of the stolen. "The occupiers are panicking and stealing each other's stolen goods."
