Russian forces try to hide their losses, block area around morgue in Berdiansk - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on June 10.

Russia continues to suffer heavy losses, which it tries to hide. Thus, in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian forces closed the territory in the city's western part to the public, according to the report. 

It is noted that there are up to 10 ambulances and several refrigerated vehicles on the territory of the morgue.

AFU hit 2 Russian control points, 4 important facilities

Over the last day, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 15 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions and 2 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Over the day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck 2 command posts, 5 manpower concentration areas, 1 artillery unit at a firing position, as well as 4 other important targets.

Russia used 8 missiles, 35 Shahed UAVs over the day

“Last night, the occupying Russian troops launched another missile and airstrike against Ukraine, using 8 missiles, including 4 Iskanders, and 35 Iranian Shahed attack UAVs against military facilities and critical infrastructure,” the General Staff noted.

The Russians launched 66 airstrikes and 39 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 2 cruise missiles, 20 UAVs of Shahed-136/131 type

The Ukrainian military, in cooperation with the Air Defense Forces, destroyed 2 cruise missiles and 20 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.

Frontline situation

Invading Russian forces are focusing their main efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Within the last day, 28 combat engagements took place.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire line of contact with mortars and artillery: 1 settlement in the Chernihiv region, 8 more in the Sumy region, as well as 6 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Shelling of Ukrainian regions

• In the Kupiansk direction, 7 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Lyman direction, 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

• In the Bakhmut direction, 11 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

• In the Avdiivka direction, 5 towns and villages of the Donetsk region came under fire. 

• In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all of the invading Russian troops' attacks, however, 5 settlements of the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, 4 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 20 cities and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army. 

Over the past day, June 9, the Defense Forces' aviation launcged 19 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions and 2 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
