Russian forces shell Kharkiv from Belgorod with five missiles, wounding a man

On October 8 after midnight, Russian forces launched five missiles at Kharkiv from Belgorod. A man has been hospitalized with shrapnel wounds from the attack.

Ihor Terekhov, mayor of Kharkiv, shares an update on the shelling.

"Shelling of the central part of Kharkiv. Previously - with missiles. Information about the victims and the destruction is being clarified", he wrote on Telegram.

Journalist Andrii Tsaplienko also wrote on Telegram about the series of explosions in Kharkiv:

"Four missiles were fired at the city from Belgorod. Kharkiv Telegram channels publish video of the fire caused by the shelling."

Subsequently, Ihor Terekhov added: "After the shelling, there was a fire in the center. According to preliminary information, one of Kharkiv's medical institutions, as well as a non-residential building, is on fire."

Later, Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that Russian forces launched four missiles against Kharkiv's the Saltiv district. One missile was launched at Osnovyansk district.

The S-300 missiles were launched from Belgorod, within Russia.

The sports complex, non-residential premises were damaged, and open areas were hit. Previously, a man was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Law enforcement agencies and all specialized response services are working.
