Russian forces shell civilians from Kinburn Spit, South of Ukraine
Operational Command South's press center head Natalia Humeniuk says the invading Russian forces cannot stay on the Kinburn Spit permanently, but from time to time accumulate resources there
She said this on Espreso TV.
“It is important to establish control over the Kinburn Spit or at least keep the enemy out of it. Because the enemy is trying to shell civilian settlements on the opposite bank from this territory - the Ochakiv and Kutsurub directions. People there are suffering from regular shelling, and many buildings have been destroyed. Fortunately, we have managed to avoid casualties in recent days. We are working to save everyone's lives. We are shooting at the opposite bank, which for us is now the Kinburn Spit. But the enemy has land connections and is able to bring up reserves. We destroy the strongholds the Russians deploy there. They can't stay there permanently, but from time to time they bring up reserves to terrorize this area,” Humeniuk noted.
According to her, in the south, the occupying forces are trying to hold the frontline.
“The enemy's attempts have already convinced them that their task is to hold the line. The occupiers are now trying to keep the frontline at the place where it was fixed,” Humeniuk added.
