Russian forces have no chance in Kupyansk sector - Ukrainian lieutenant colonel
Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Shevtsov, spokesman for the Stalevyi Kordon (Steel Frontier) assault brigade, says that heavy fighting continues in the Kupyansk sector towards Sinkivka
He said this on Espreso TV.
"In the Kupyansk sector, Synkivka is the most sensitive area. For more than six months the enemy has been trying to advance, but it hasn't succeeded, and we haven't given up a single piece of land. I hope we can continue to hold the line in this area. Synkivka is very important for the Russian forces. If the Russians break through the Ukrainian defense near Sinkivka, they will have good strategic directions for further advancement to Kupyansk," explained Shevtsov.
According to him, a large number of personnel from both sides are concentrated in the direction of Synkivka. The most active fighting is taking place in this area.
"The Russian troops will continue to try to conduct assault operations in this area. But we had enough time to gain a foothold in this area. Now the enemy has no chance. The enemy has not made any advances in six months," emphasized Shevtsov.
- To storm Ukrainian positions in the Kupyansk sector, the Russian forces are using units formed from former convicts and former mercenaries of the Wagner PMC.
- The Institute for War Studies writes that Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the line and advance near Bakhmut. Instead, Russian militants are advancing along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line.
