Russians are using units formed of former convicts and Wagner PMC mercenaries to storm Ukrainian positions in the Kupyansk direction
This was reported by the Commander of the Ukrainian Land Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.
He noted that Russia conducts active offensive actions in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia separate military unit.
In particular, in the Kupyansk direction, units formed from former convicts — Storm, Storm Z, and Storm V — are used to storm Ukrainian positions. The military also notes the presence of former Wagner mercenaries, who are also involved in the assaults.
However, according to Syrskyi, the Russian invaders have not had any success in this area.
As of now, the fighting continues near Ivanivka and Synkivka, Kharkiv region. In the Lyman direction, Russia is trying to storm the Serebryansky forests. They are actively using bombers, fighter aircraft and fire support helicopters.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian invaders continue to try to force Ukrainian units out of their positions in Klishchiivka. In this area, the Russian occupiers have intensified the use of “kamikaze” drones. Russia has no success in this area.
The Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized that since the beginning of the month, the Russian invaders have lost 8,690 personnel, destroyed or damaged 1,002 pieces of military equipment, including 109 tanks, 175 armored combat vehicles and over 200 artillery systems and mortars of various calibers.
