Russian forces deploy new snipers to areas bordering Ukraine
Russian forces transfer 80 sniper course graduates to the border with Ukraine to pass exams in combat conditions
This was reported by the National Resistance Centre.
"In this way, Russian killers plan to conduct training along the borders of the Sumy region," the statement said.
"However, there is a high probability that the new snipers will not pass the exams and will be neutralised," the Centre added.
What we know about the situation in Sumy region
In June, General Serhiy Nayev called on residents of the Sumy region's border area to evacuate.
"Russian enemy with inexplicable persistence terrorises the territory of Sumy region almost every day, using all available methods. The Russian forces are firing from multiple rocket launchers, artillery and striking from the air with guided aerial munitions," he said.
On 3 July, Russian forces attempted to infiltrate the territory of the Sumy region and, having failed, opened fire on civilians. Two civilians were killed.
According to the General Staff's report published on the morning of the 10th of July, at night and in the morning, Russian forces shelled Esman, Krasnopil, Khotyn, and Shalyhyne communities. Also on July 9, the Russian enemy launched two mortar attacks on the Bilopillia and Seredyna-Buda communities.
Taking into account the intensity of shelling and the work of Russian subversive reconnaissance groups, on 10 July, the Sumy Military Administration decided to evacuate residents from a 5-km zone near the state border with Russia.
