Russian forces carry out 26 massive attacks on Avdiivka, firing with everything they have – mayor 

He told this on Espreso TV channel.

"The situation in the Avdiivka sector has not changed fundamentally, it is still tense and difficult, but under control. Mostly due to the weather conditions, the enemy does not carry out many assault operations, as it is difficult to use heavy equipment that gets stuck in the Donbas soil. It is also difficult for infantry to perform assault tasks. Over the past day, the Russian enemy massively shelled Avdiivka 26 times, firing over 250 times at positions around the city. Russia also launched 4 air strikes on the city and 6 on the positions around it. Unfortunately, a local resident born in 1976 was killed as a result of a tank attack yesterday morning on 1 June," said the head of Avdiivka city military administration.

Vitaliy Barabash added that Russian troops are firing with everything they have at their disposal: cannon artillery, Grad multiple rocket launcher systems of various charges, Smerchy, Uragan, mortars, tanks.

• On May 30, Ukrainian Armed Forces Captain Valeriy Prozapas said that Russian troops were regrouping in the Avdiivka sector to deter the Ukrainian Defence Forces' offensive.
