Russian Defense Minister accuses Poland of intention to seize western Ukrainian regions

He said this at a meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry, Interfax reports.

"There are plans to create a so-called Polish-Ukrainian unit on a regular basis, ostensibly to ensure the security of western Ukraine, but in fact to further occupy this territory," Shoigu said.

"As for the Polish leaders, they apparently expect to form a coalition under the NATO 'umbrella' and directly intervene in the conflict in Ukraine in order to "tear off" a bigger piece for themselves, to regain what they consider to be their historical territories - today's western Ukraine," the Kremlin's lord of propaganda said.
