Russian attacks will continue as long as Chinese delegation's trip to Europe lasts – diplomat Bezsmertnyi

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Belarus (2010-2011), diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi believes that there is a link between the Chinese envoy’s visit to Europe and the intensification of Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine

He expressed this opinion in the Verdict with Serhii Rudenko program on Espreso TV.

“There is a concept in international relations which is called a diplomacy of force. The Russian attacks are exactly the case when there is a pattern. Very often, when diplomatic channels and diplomatic actions were activated, Russia and the Soviet Union resorted to a similar tool. The coincidence of the beginning of active missile and bomb attacks on Ukraine by the Moscow Fuhrer with the voyage of Chinese special representative Li Hui is not a coincidence, it is a pattern. This is a demonstration of what Putin has been telling his friend, the Beijing dictator, during private meetings. During Xi Jinping's last visit to Moscow, where they discussed mediation in possible negotiations,” Bezsmertnyi explained.

According to the diplomat, it is obvious that Russian attacks will continue as long as the Chinese delegation's trip to Europe lasts. The mission of the Chinese delegation has nothing to do with achieving a result in accordance with international law.

“This is a mission to solve China's own problems and an intelligence mission agreed between Moscow and Beijing. There is no need to expect results from this visit. I emphasize that we should not disregard the connection between the Chinese mission and the intensification of Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine, especially the capital, with all kinds of weapons. Putin is not demonstrating anything new in this case. Attacks are a typical Soviet-imperialist tool for negotiations. The Russian attacks are an accompaniment to the mission of the Chinese special representative for Eurasia,” he said.

  • The presidential press service reported that the Ukrainian delegation held talks with Li Hui, the Chinese government's Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs, who arrived in Kyiv on May 17.
