Russian army’s combat capability has decreased by 50% - Ben Wallace
The combat capability of the Russian army has decreased by at least 50% in 10 months of full-scale war against Ukraine
This was stated by UK’s Minister of Defence Ben Wallace, the press service of the Ministry informs.
According to Wallace, Russian capabilities were seriously limited due to the destruction of more than 4,500 armored vehicles, more than 140 helicopters and aircraft, as well as hundreds of artillery pieces.
“The Russian Battalion Tactical Group concept, for a decade the pride of their military doctrine has not stood up to Ukrainian resistance. Russia’s deployed land forces’ combat effectiveness has dropped by more than 50%,” the minister stated.
Moreover, the Defence Minister ridiculed the Russian Black Sea Fleet, calling it a "little more than a coastal defence flotilla.”
“Kremlin paid mercenaries are faring no better. Hundreds were killed by a recent strike on a headquarters used by the paramilitary Wagner group in the Luhansk region,” Wallace added.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on December 19 that there can be no real negotiations with Russia until it withdraws from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
