Russian army commander General Goryachev eliminated in Zaporizhzhia region
The chief of staff of the 35th Combined Arms Army, Major General Sergei Goryachev, was eliminated in the Zaporizhzhia region
Russian media reported the information.
According to one of the military commanders, Goryachev was killed in a missile attack.
"Goryachev served in the Kirovabad Airborne Division, then commanded a reconnaissance company and then a parachute battalion in the 76th Division, and was chief of staff of the 108th Regiment. Later, he headed the Russian contingent in Transnistria, commanded a military base in Tajikistan, and a training center in Khabarovsk," the military commander said.
He notes that during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he was the commander of the 5th Separate Tank Brigade, later rose in rank to the deputy commander of the 35th Army (with the rank of major general), and was appointed chief of staff of the army.
"The Russian army has lost one of its brightest and most effective military leaders," the military commander added.
