Russian army tries to enter Avdiivka Coke Plant, to no avail — Ukrainian Armed Forces
The spokesman for the joint press center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, said that the Avdiivka Coke Plant is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The enemy is actively but unsuccessfully trying to get into the territory of Avdiivka Coke Plant. The plant is under our control. The enemy is suffering heavy losses there, both in equipment and manpower. Russia is sending infantry and dropping guided aerial bombs both on Avdiivka and on the outskirts of the city," said Shtupun.
The spokesman also added that active hostilities continue in the Avdiivka sector. The enemy keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka.
"Russia continues active ground attacks, sometimes using armored vehicles. The enemy lost almost 500 soldiers over the last day. Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 7 tanks and 13 armored vehicles. Forty-five combat engagements and 648 artillery attacks were registered," noted Stupun.
- Officer of the 59th Detached Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Y. Handziuk Serhiy Tsehotskyi noted that Russia focused all attention on the Avdiivka sector.
- Over the past day, the Russian army launched 11 missile and 28 air strikes on Ukrainian territory. In return, the Ukrainian Armed Forces neutralized 1,180 Russian troops.
