
Zelenskyy honors memory of people killed in Russian strike on Kyiv
On Thursday, June 19, President Zelenskyy visited the site of a Russian strike on a residential building in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district and honored the victims
The Presidential Office's official website reported the information.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy laid flowers at the destroyed apartment building, which was struck by Russia on the night of June 17.
"This strike is a reminder to the world that Russia spurns a ceasefire and chooses to kill. I am grateful to all our partners who understand that Ukraine must grow stronger every single day. I thank everyone who is ready to exert pressure on Moscow in a way that makes them feel the true cost of this war," Zelenskyy wrote.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that more than 400 rescuers and more than 200 pieces of equipment were involved in the aftermath of the attack. According to him, 500 residents have applied to document the loss of their homes. The Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that more than 1,000 people have applied for help to the district headquarters.
A technical inspection of the house is underway. If major reconstruction is not possible, people will receive compensation for the destroyed housing.
