According to the agency’s sources, during negotiations at the Kremlin on April 25, Witkoff tried to convince Putin to cease fire and hostilities along the present front line.
However, the Russian dictator maintained a maximalist position regarding Ukrainian territories, specifically insisting that the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions must be fully under Moscow’s control.
A Bloomberg source added that negotiations have now reached a deadlock, requiring a direct conversation between Donald Trump and Putin to achieve further progress.
