As reported by Ukrainform, Kirby stated that while he respects the position of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, the current administration upholds key principles: "We are not going to discuss Ukraine without Ukraine’s involvement, and we will not dictate their next steps."
"As we've made clear to him before, and I can do so again today when he makes that decision, and as long as President Biden is commander-in-chief, he (Zelenskyy - ed.) will find support from this administration as he moves forward with negotiations,” Kirby said.
- On December 16, Donald Trump announced that he wants to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
