Future flagship of the Ukrainian Navy passes the first tests

Turkey has conducted the first tests of the new Ukrainian anti-submarine corvette of the Ada class Hetman Ivan Mazepa. This was reported by Turkish columnist Enes Balcı on the social network X.

"The Hetman Ivan Mazepa (F-211) corvette, which is being built by RMK Marine Shipyard as the main contractor, has passed its first navigation tests today," Balci wrote.

Construction of the new Ukrainian corvette began in January 2021: steel was cut and sections were formed. In September 2021, the ship was laid down in Turkey. By that time, 13 sections and the ship's keel had been formed.

The corvette will become the new flagship of the Ukrainian navy after the sinking of the Hetman Sahaidachny in connection with Russia's full-scale invasion.

Ukraine will be able to strike at Russia with Danish F-16s

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said that Ukraine will be able to use Danish F-16 fighters to strike at military targets in Russia. 

Rasmussen made the statement to journalists on Thursday, May 30, in Brussels.

When asked by journalists whether Denmark would allow Ukraine to use F-16 fighter jets to strike targets in Russia, Rasmussen answered briefly “yes.”

He explained that this position is not new, it has been communicated a long time ago.

Ukrainian naval drones strike at the Russian Black Sea Fleet near Kerch

Ukrainian maritime drones have conducted an effective strike on the Russian fleet near Kerch: seven vessels were destroyed and damaged.

"On May 30, 2024, a special unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Group 13, using Ukrainian Magura V5 strike marine drones, once again effectively attacked the ship and boat fleet of the aggressor state of Russia in the temporarily occupied Crimea," the statement says.

 the intelligence clarified that the mission destroyed two Russian KS-701 Tunets boats and damaged two other vessels of the same type.  Russian forces used them for logistics and patrolling the waters near the temporarily occupied peninsula. 

At the same time, the Russian telegram channel Astra reported that 4 boats, two ferries and the pilot boat Mechta were destroyed or damaged as a result of the night attack. The latter, according to Astra, sank, and one of the ferries ran aground due to damage.
