U.S. ramps up pressure on Russia — military expert
Military expert Dmytro Sniehyrov stated that the United States is exerting significant pressure on Russia to agree to a ceasefire and bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war
He shared this on the Espreso channel.
"Today, we are unaware of the powers held by the head of the President's Office in negotiations in Saudi Arabia. I also mentioned that the functionality of the President's Office is unclear. It's essentially an unconstitutional structure. I don't understand the powers of the President's Office and why its head represents Ukraine’s interests on behalf of the entire country," Sniehyrov said.
The expert pointed out that it doesn't matter who will represent Ukraine in the negotiation process, as these are not bilateral talks, and the U.S. continues to pressure not only Ukraine but also Russia.
"It is important to note that these are not bilateral negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, but the position of the U.S. The U.S. is the moderator of these negotiations. So frankly speaking, it doesn't matter who represents Ukraine—Yermak, Umierov, or anyone else. The fact is that the U.S. is pressuring not just Ukraine, as our media report, but primarily Russia. This pressure is quite serious and significant. In particular, the reduction of Russia's military-political influence and sectoral sanctions, despite reports in our media that the U.S. is easing sanctions pressure on Russia," he added.
- On Tuesday, March 25, a new round of negotiations took place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, between the Ukrainian and American delegations. Kyiv, Washington, and Moscow agreed to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a ceasefire regime regarding energy infrastructure may be introduced on March 25, and this issue has been coordinated with the United States.
