Ukrainian military reveals most successful defense operations
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ most successful operations were those conducted under conditions of information silence. At the same time, there is no military censorship in Ukraine
Dmytro Lykhoviy, an officer of the Main Communications Directorate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated this at a forum in Kyiv, according to Ukrinform.
"The most successful operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were those conducted under conditions of information silence. These include the Kharkiv offensive operation and last year's Kursk offensive operation. When the least was known about them, they turned out to be the most successful," he said.
Lykhoviy noted that despite martial law in Ukraine, there is no military censorship, and the information space remains democratic and open. He emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale war, about 40,000 press cards have been issued, which indicates a high level of transparency.
According to him, the number of accredited foreign journalists has almost equaled that of Ukrainian journalists, demonstrating an unprecedented openness to the media.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also do not restrict communication between servicemen and the press, acknowledging that this can create challenges, but at the same time reflects the freedom of Ukrainian society.
"In fact, we have almost an equal number of Ukrainian and Western media represented. The openness is unprecedented, there is no censorship. There are a lot of accreditations, we are open to comments. We do not restrict the communication of each individual serviceman, because these are free people who have been mobilized, and they are a cross-section of our society, although this also brings many challenges and risks," Lykhoviy said.
- In February, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Kursk operation would become an important part of the negotiation process to end the war in Ukraine.
