Ukrainian military major predicts prolonged war in years ahead
Taras Berezovets, a major in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a spokesman for the First Separate Special Forces Brigade, says the war is not expected to end in 2024
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The army is a conservative institution, and we see the continuity of the new military leadership. The task of reaching the state borders of 1991 remains unchanged and must remain so, regardless of how much time it takes. In an interview with ZDF, recorded before Syrskyi's appointment, he spoke about the difficult stage of the war and the need to transition to strategic defense. Syrskyi did not say in the interview that we would restore the borders of 1991 in two to three weeks, as some incompetent experts previously claimed. At the moment, there is no talk of ending the war by the end of 2024; this war continues," emphasized Berezovets.
According to a Ukrainian major, the war will not end in the near years.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine are the instrument of the Ukrainian people in achieving our goals regarding the restoration of our territorial integrity. Considering the potential of the Russian Federation, we should not expect quick results. As Syrsky said, our main priority is the preservation of personnel," noted Berezovets.
