Ukrainian military leadership assesses Russia's readiness to attack Sumy region
As of May 24, the Russian army has no strike groups to launch an offensive in the Sumy region

Volodymyr Artiukh, the head of the Regional Military Administration, reported on the operational situation in the Sumy region during the marathon.
"An expanded meeting of the Sumy Regional Defense Council has just taken place, which was attended by the leadership of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces. A detailed assessment was made of the situation on the border, on the contact line, regarding the readiness of the respective defense lines, the readiness of the security and defense forces for possible enemy actions in the Sumy sector," said Volodymyr Artiukh.
The Defense Council believes that the Russians currently have no strike groups to carry out offensive actions. Ukraine's Armed Forces are ready for any enemy challenge.
- On May 24, Ukrainian military reported that the Russian forces were building up a grouping of troops near the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
