Ukrainian military destroys Russian fuel depot in Luhansk region
On the night of Saturday, October 12, residents of the Russia-occupied town of Rovenky in the Luhansk region reported hearing explosions. The Ukrainian military targeted a fuel/lubricants warehouse
This was confirmed by Ukraine’s General Staff, which stated that the warehouse stored oil and oil products used by the Russian army. A fire has been recorded at the facility.
The operation was carried out by Ukraine's Defence Intelligence in cooperation with other branches of the Defense Forces. The General Staff emphasized that efforts to weaken the military and economic capabilities of Russian forces are ongoing.
Earlier, local Telegram channels reported that explosions were heard in Russian-occupied Rovenky, Luhansk region.
Residents posted videos of the fire on social media, saying it was caused by a drone strike.
Rovenky has been under Russian occupation since 2014 and is about 115 km from the front line, with the Russian-Ukrainian border just 25 km away.
