Ukrainian forces take countermeasures, shifting combat operations to Russia’s Belgorod region
Military expert Dmytro Sniehyrov reported that Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian command post in Belgorod, which had been directing operations in Ukraine’s Sumy region
He shared this information on the Espreso TV channel.
“There is a sharp increase in combat activity in the Zaporizhzhia sector, particularly near the settlement of Piatykhatky. The Russians are trying to demonstrate that the Russian dictator’s statements regarding Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, as well as the idea of ending the war while maintaining the current front line, are not even up for discussion. The enemy considers these territories part of their federation,” the military expert explained.
According to him, similar developments are occurring in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, where Russian forces are attempting to expand the front line by seizing new Ukrainian territories. Their goal is to signal that if Ukraine does not comply with Russia’s demands to withdraw its troops from Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, the invaders reserve the right to expand the geography of military operations.
“In the Sumy region, Russian forces are attempting to break through near the Sudzha checkpoint to disrupt the logistics of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. However, the Ukrainian military is responding adequately to these threats. Moreover, countermeasures are being implemented, including shifting the theater of operations onto Russian territory, specifically in the Belgorod region. Today, it was confirmed that a Russian command and control post in Belgorod, which was directing military operations in the Sumy region, was destroyed,” Sniehyrov noted.
- On March 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a strike on the command post of one of the units of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Army of the Russian Armed Forces near Demidovka in the Belgorod region.
