Ukrainian forces repel 42 Russian attacks in six directions - General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

In total, Russia launched 2 missile strikes, 43 airstrikes, and 25 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Over the last day, 68 combat engagements took place. The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 30 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 attacks near Synkivka, Kharkiv region, where the Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. About 10 settlements were shelled with artillery and mortars.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region, and Hryhorivka, Vesele, Donetsk region. Air strikes were launched near Novoehorivka, Luhansk region, and Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiazi, Donetsk region. More than 15 localities suffered from enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled four Russian attacks near Andriivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. Russia launched an airstrike near Bohdanivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks near Avdiivka and another 16 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. About 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian army in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. About 6 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled three Russian attacks south of Zolota Nyva and west of Staromaiorsk in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five attacks near Robotyne. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, 6 localities were subjected to artillery shelling.

Russia doesn't abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units out of the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the invading forces launched 8 unsuccessful assault operations. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the Russian troops.

Ukrainian military strikes against Russian troops 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 21 Russian  military positions, as well as 4 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile troops struck 6 manpower concentration areas, 1 command post, 1 artillery unit, 2 air defense facilities, 1 munitions depot, and 1 radar station.

• Over the past day, Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks in the Avdiivka, Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Marinka, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions and killed 840 soldiers.
