Ukrainian forces can hamper Russian advance near Kurakhove - military expert Zgurets
Defense Express CEO and military expert Serhiy Zgurets says that the effectiveness of Ukrainian brigades' interaction, availability of artillery and reserves can significantly complicate the Russian advance in the Kurakhove direction
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"The area that appears to be encircled on the map, south of Kurakhove, is covered by our three powerful [Ukrainian] brigades—the 46th, 33rd, and 79th—which are currently holding back the enemy quite effectively. A bit further down, in the area from Yasna Poliana and further east, are the 28th Mountain Assault Brigade and two Territorial Defense brigades. Their defense is somewhat less effective than our airmobile assault brigades positioned further north. This means that the effectiveness of the brigades' coordination, as well as the availability of artillery and reserves in these sectors, can significantly complicate the Russian advance," noted Zgurets.
According to the military expert, the situation around the settlement of Uspenivka is quite concerning.
"If the enemy advances, a planned withdrawal will be arranged on the Ukrainian side to prevent them from closing a theoretical encirclement near the area of Kostiantynivka. Everything is visible on the map, but no analyst can accurately predict how events will unfold, as sometimes it all depends on a single soldier holding a particular position," added Zgurets.
