Russian army increases activity in Lyman direction - Ukraine’s General Staff

Since the start of November 4, there have been 132 combat clashes reported at the front, with the Russian army ramping up its activity in the Lyman sector

Ukraine’s General Staff reported.

Throughout the day, the Russian army has continued its offensive, leading to an increase in combat engagements along the entire front line. The fighting is most intense in the Kurakhove and Lyman sectors.

Additionally, the Sumy and Kharkiv regions are still facing artillery shelling from Russian territory, affecting several border settlements, including Pavlivka, Oleksandrivka, Vidrodzhenivske, Rohizne, Zhuravka, and Znob-Trubchevska.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, four Russian attacks are currently taking place near Vovchansk, and two have already been stopped.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian troops have launched nine assaults on Ukrainian positions near Kindrashivka, Kucherivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Vyshneve, Lozova, and Kruhliakivka, with three of those attacks still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army has carried out 18 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, and Torske. Five of these engagements have ended, while 13 are still ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, Russian forces made one unsuccessful attempt to attack Ukrainian positions near Bilohorivka. In the Kramatorsk sector, they launched five attacks near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky, with two firefights still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops, supported by aviation, tried to advance five times in the areas of Dachne, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka, but Ukrainian soldiers pushed them back. The invaders also dropped two bombs near Diliivka.

Since the start of the day, there have been eleven attempts by the Russian army to dislodge Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk sector, with fighting ongoing near Promin, Lysivka, Selydove, Yurivka, and Vyshneve. Kalynove was attacked with guided aerial bombs and unguided aerial missiles.

The situation is most intense in the Kurakhove sector, where 51 Russian attacks have been reported in areas like Vovchenka, Illinka, Kreminna Balka, Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Hostre, Maksymivka, Antonivka, Dalne, Katerynivka, and Yelizavetivka. The main focus is on Kreminna Balka, where the invaders have launched 19 attacks, with nine still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, two firefights are happening near Trudove, and Ukrainian troops have already repelled three attacks.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army attacked five times in Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, and Orikhiv. They also dropped five guided bombs in Tavriiske and near Mala Tokmachka.

One Russian attack was successfully repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector, while the invaders launched an airstrike with unguided aerial missiles at Mykolaivka.

The situation in the other sectors remains unchanged.

  • Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated over 700,000 Russian servicemen.
