General Staff reports 87 clashes at front, 27 repelled Russian attacks in Bakhmut sector

On April 15, the Russian troops attacked the most in the Bakhmut sector - 27 times and in the Novopavlivka sector - 26 times

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General staff stated this on April 15.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

Over the past day, Russia launched 15 missile strikes, 18 airstrikes, and 29 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

Over the last day, 87 combat engagements were recorded.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions . About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four attacks near Terny, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 27 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Novyi, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, Donetsk region, where Russian army was trying to improve its tactical position. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Semenivka, Umanske, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, where Russia, supported by aviation, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back Russian enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Pobieda, Vodiane, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where Russia, supported by aviation, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 26 times. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia attacked the Ukrainian positions 5 times near Staromaiorske, Donetsk region; north of Pryiutne and southwest of Bilohirya, Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to push Ukrainian units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, it made 4 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 2 Russian manpower concentration areas and 1 Russian control point.

Missile troops destroyed 1 artillery unit, 3 manpower concentration areas, and 4 UAV control points.

  • There were 76 combat engagements in the frontline yesterday. In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 36 attacks by Russian invaders.
