Ukrainian soldiers in south try to unite all footholds to push back Russian troops
Ivan Tymochko, a serviceman and chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told about the expansion of the bridgehead in southern Ukraine
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"There are several footholds captured by Ukrainian troops, including Krynky, Kozacha Lopan, and Antonivskyi Bridge. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to unite all the footholds in this area into one in order to push the Russian troops further inland as soon as possible. If these footholds are sufficiently expanded, the Ukrainian Armed Forces plan to deploy the necessary amount of heavy equipment and artillery. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning to expand the bridgehead not only in length, but also in depth, width, and into enemy's ranks," Tymochko said.
The Russian forces are trying to continuously counterattack there, but even the Russian military commanders themselves, pro-Russian analysts, all unanimously say that the hopes they had for Colonel General Mikhail Teplinski have failed.
“Occupying Russian forces were counting on his 'shock fist', created from airborne troops, which was supposed to throw Ukrainian troops into the Dnipro and destroy them in hours. Teplinskyi failed in his task, and now he is being called another 'butcher' in the Russian army," Tymochko added.
- On January 29, Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Centre of the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces, noted that in their area of responsibility, Russian forces used up to 80 FPV drones simultaneously during one combat day.
