Russian media reports this, revealing that Vrublevsky is now considered a federal and international fugitive.

According to Radio Azattyk, the arrest is connected to Vrublevsky's strong remarks against Russians, where he advocated for the killing of occupiers.

The court authorized a two-month arrest as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into his statements.

Additionally, Vrublevsky was added to the list of "terrorists and extremists" by Rosfinmonitoring in early February.

He served as Ukraine's Ambassador to Kazakhstan from December 2020 to October 2022, following a role as an adviser-envoy at the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus.

  • In August 2022, during an interview with blogger Dias Kuzairov, Vrublevsky stated that Ukrainians are actively working to eliminate as many Russians as possible to spare their children from such a task. This led to an official protest from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing dismay that Vrublevsky continued attending diplomatic events as the head of the mission. Furthermore, the Russian ambassador, Oleksiy Borodavkin, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan in response to statements made by the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, regarding Ambassador Petro Vrublevsky.
