Ukraine’s Defense Forces capture 5 Russian soldiers in Kursk region

According to the Ukrainian soldiers, the prisoners fell for Russian propaganda, signed a contract to "fight the Nazis and mercenaries," but ended up being captured by Ukrainian forces.

"Five servicemen of the Russian army were captured by airborne troops together with their counterparts in the Kursk region. The prisoners were provided with timely medical and psychological assistance," the press service reported.

It is noted that in their units on Russian territory, the captured Russians were subjected to inhumane treatment, torture, and shootings for refusing to follow criminal orders and for refusing to participate in "cannon fodder assaults." 

• The Russian prisoners of war are held in accordance with the Geneva Conventions. All of them have confirmed that they have no complaints about their captivity, stated Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
