“I thank everyone who helps, who works 24/7 to ensure that Ukrainians return home. It is very important to return all those who are in captivity. We are checking every name and information about each person. We will continue our diplomatic work to make such steps possible,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.

According to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the discussions addressed prisoner exchanges in a 1000 for 1000 format, a ceasefire, and a potential meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.
- On May 22, Ukraine and Russia provided each other with lists of names of prisoners of war for an exchange in the format of 1,000 for 1,000. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called this agreement the only real result of the meeting with the Russian delegation in Istanbul.
