Ukraine destroys 96 missiles and fuel reserves in Engels-2 airbase strike on Mar. 20

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the information.
As a result of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' strike on the Russian Aerospace Forces airfield Engels-2, Russia lost 96 air-launched cruise missiles, including due to secondary detonation.
“These weapons were intended for three missile strikes in March-April this year,” the military explained.
Additionally, strikes on aviation fuel storage sites led to the destruction of significant reserves. This negatively impacts Russia’s ability to sustain combat operations.
- On Thursday, March 20, units of Ukraine’s Security Service and the Special Operations Forces, in coordination with other branches of the Defense Forces, launched an attack on the Engels airfield in Russia’s Saratov region.
- Satellite images from the aerospace company Maxar reveal that following the Ukrainian attack on the Engels airfield in Russia, several buildings were left with visible craters from explosions.
- British intelligence called this strike Ukraine's most successful attack since the beginning of the year.
