Ukraine and allies launch new Electromagnetic Warfare coalition
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov says that 10 countries, including Ukraine, have joined the new Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Coalition in support of Ukraine
He shared the information on his Facebook page.
“Today, during the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, together with my colleague, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, we officially announced the launch of the new Electromagnetic Warfare Coalition,” Umerov said in the post.
Ten countries, including Ukraine, have signed a joint Letter of Intent expressing their desire to join the new initiative. This marks the 9th coalition established within the Ramstein meeting format.
The primary focus of the new coalition will be on procuring equipment, training personnel, and developing strategic documents in the field of electronic warfare.
According to the Minister of Defense, the formation of this coalition will facilitate the coordination of efforts and enable a comprehensive response to the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
“This coalition is designed not only to meet the current needs of the Ukrainian army for EW capabilities but also to lay the foundation for the long-term development of this sector,” he added.
- On April 11, the 27th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format took place in Brussels. During the meeting, President Zelenskyy emphasized that air defense remains a top priority for Ukraine.
