Zelenskyy asks for 10 Patriot systems, addressing Ukraine's allies from Kryvyi Rih
On April 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the participants of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in the Ramstein format, which is taking place in Brussels
He wrote about this on Telegram.
“Today is exactly one month since Russia rejected the U.S. proposal for a full and unconditional ceasefire. A month that has made it very clear: Russia is the only reason for this war. Without force against Russia, there will be no readiness in Russia to accept and implement any realistic and effective peace proposals,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that he had joined the Ramstein meeting remotely from Kryvyi Rih, where a Russian missile hit a week ago and killed 20 civilians, including 9 children.
“Our people, our children are under attack in many cities and villages: Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, and many others. They all need protection from Russian missiles,” the President emphasized.
He urged the participants of the meeting to focus primarily on air defense for Ukraine.
“We really need it. Ten Patriot systems - the free world has them. Now we need political decisions to make these systems work for peace. We need this result,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the meeting and defined Ukraine's top priorities.
"Today, a new meeting of the Ramstein Group is taking place in Brussels. Our priority is air defense, and it is very important that our partners hear us. Ukrainians know how to be precise. We have already learned to shoot down a lot of Russian terror weapons. We only need to cover the shortage of air defense systems to make our sky defense stronger," the president emphasized.
According to him, partners can help with this and also activate the implementation of all previously reached agreements.
"Patriots, which are now simply stored somewhere with our partners, should really be protecting lives," the president of Ukraine stressed.
