UK weighs troop deployment to Ukraine under potential ceasefire

Healey said London is increasing funding for its armed forces and reviewing their readiness so they could join multinational forces that would operate if a peace deal between Kyiv and the Kremlin is reached, ensuring the protection of Ukraine’s borders.

“So, as President Trump leads the push for peace here in Europe, we are ready to lead the work to secure it in the long-term. For our Armed Forces, I am already reviewing readiness levels and accelerating millions of pounds of funding to prepare for any possible deployment into Ukraine,” he said.

At the same time, Healey added that the Russian leader considers the United Kingdom his “number one enemy” due to its support for Kyiv.

• The next meeting of the Coalition of the Willing countries is scheduled for Friday, October 24, in London. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also take part in it.
