
Turkish president offers to mediate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during which he once again proposed Turkey as a mediator in the peace talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war

The outlet noted that Erdoğan and Putin discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and Russia, as well as regional and global issues.
"President Erdoğan emphasized that cooperation between Turkey and Russia is crucial for resolving regional issues. He also highlighted that Turkey is closely following the process aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine and is ready to provide full support, including facilitating peace negotiations, to achieve a just and sustainable peace," the statement reads.
The Turkish president also emphasized that steps to ensure the security of maritime trade in the Black Sea would contribute to the peace process.
Additionally, the conversation covered Syria's changing political situation.
